Business: The Only Strategy You Need for Success in 2013!

I woke up this morning, happy to be back to my routine: coffee, breakfast, a bit of news and a workout! I felt good after the holidays, to be back to normal. As I started the coffee, still awake, the story unfolds on the morning news caught my ear, partly because it was refreshingly positive and partly because it was the kind of story that touches the heart and draws you in.

The newscaster reported on a veteran - a young soldier who had lost a leg and was the formation of a climb - the climb of his life. The reporter went on to explain that he was a sailor elite New York whose leg had been destroyed and then later amputated after IED attack in Iraq. The sailor, now wearing a prosthesis, trying to climb - yes, climb - one of the steepest, most dangerous roads ice of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northern United States.

The journalist shared his ascension was a way to honor this Marine comrades who do return from Iraq. In addition, his hope was to use the climb to raise funds for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, an organization that supports wounded soldiers hospitalized and children of those killed in battle.

The sailor, who is only 26, has admitted that although FDI may have ended his career in the Navy, he had not stripped of the "toughness determination, perseverance and mental that I won." The anchor went to share the story of the sailor ': all that he had lived on the battlefield, to recover from his injuries and the tragic loss of his leg. Yet, despite all this, the anchor release the astonishing achievements of this navy is now done, against all odds. His story, as you can imagine, is nothing less than remarkable.

While I was touched by his story, I was much inspired by his words and actions. It was to convey the powerful message that no matter what happened to him, no matter what challenges or obstacles lies in his way, he would not be defeated. I thought about the power of his attitude and mental strength, and to what extent they are connected that we can overcome, and what we can accomplish. It is, as this sailor, quite remarkable. Not to mention the impact of attitude like her has on those around him, how he positively influences others.

While you watch 2013 and begin to define your goals, define your goal, and get ready to take action, think about your attitude. Ask yourself: How do you mentally tough? Are you ready mentally for the coming year and how the economy is going to be difficult? How are you prepared to be flexible and responsive to customer needs changing? How will you withstand new competition that is sure to come your way? Do you have the courage to take risks and try new things? Are you sufficiently elastic to replace once you get? Because believe me, you will fall, making mistakes, and make some bad decisions.

How strong you are prepared mentally and has a direct impact on your success in this Trust & Economy value. So how do you get ready? How do you know if you have what it takes? There are exercises you can do to get your mind and your attitude like? Absolutely!

There are six techniques that I like to follow. I personally use and practice these six ways to keep my positive attitude and my mental strength:

1. Embrace Failure - We've all heard that if you are not enough if you do not take enough chances, and in my opinion, you are missing opportunities. Unfortunately, the failure is something that our culture does not accept or see, we have lost sight of one of our best learning tools. Understand why something does not work is as important, is actually a part of learning to make it work. So make the choice to embrace failure as a learning tool, and consistently ask yourself these questions: What is that? What is not? What should I do differently in the future? Let go of your ego, learn from your mistakes, and failure becomes a means to propel you forward instead of holding you back.

2. Results forget - you have much more control over the process that you the result, so focus your attention there. Especially in today's economy, with so many external forces that influence your success, your goals and expectations must be flexible. Put your time and energy to improve your processes, provide a better product, improve your marketing strategy, etc. Become the best at what you do and how you deliver it. A robust process will put you in a position to be flexible and responsive to market changes, and give you the courage to take risks, no matter what it Trust & Value Economy has in store for you.

3. Take action - just do it, as Nike would say! Every day, every week, go ahead and take action. Your process in place, you now it works. Make sales calls, you said that you coach your employees, tracking customer service requests, etc. In the Trust and the value of economy, business owners, general managers and professionals who are achieving success not smarter or more capable than you are. They are simply those who act. Practice, I want to mention is the first motion, which is that learning, growth and results come from taking action and choosing to keep moving forward. Many people talk about what they do, but few of them do. Be among those who do! Make a list of five things you do every day or a week, who are proactive and advance your business and your life before. Then do it!

4. Right People - If you are going to succeed and achieve a level of mental strength, then you need to surround yourself with people who support your goals and dreams and your attempts to pass. Too often I see professionals who are beaten by a boss who focuses on their mistakes and forget to highlight what they do well. Or they have family and friends who see their mistakes as failures rather than as learning opportunities. If you want to master this economy & Trust value and increase your mental strength and learn to set boundaries. Limit your time with people who energize you and increase your time with those who do. Remember, the people who focus on your faults and emphasize what you do more harm than what you're doing right people you need to limit your exposure time.

5. Manage your energy - Speaking of energy, learn to manage your. So many of us have tried time and again to manage our time, with no luck at all. This is because the time is not really the problem. The challenge is really the amount of energy that we have to do everything we need and want to accomplish. The concept is simple, really. There are people and activities that infuse us with energy and people and activities that deplete our energy. Our job is to learn to balance the two. There are things that deplete our energy, such as certain tasks or social outings or business functions which we participate, can actually be removed from our lives. Then there are things that increase our energy, as our hobby, some business functions and favorite people. Your job is to make better choices and plan your day around energy, not time. Surely you can not get rid of everything that depletes your energy. But if you look honestly, there are certainly things that you can limit. In addition, identify what puts energy into your life and add more of it. For those days when you have to do tasks that deplete your energy, throw a few that add.

6. Take personal responsibility - My personal favorite. If you want to increase your mental strength, learn to overcome obstacles and achieve great things in the economy Trust & Value, then stop blaming other people or situations. Understand that everything that goes wrong in your life or you've had a hand in. You made a choice and you are responsible. Then take a look at your actions and behaviors, and embrace your responsibility for the outcome. Understand clearly the success and personal responsibility are inextricably linked. You can not - I repeat, can not - be achieved without the other. Spend time blaming others or the situation, even if you're right, it is a waste of time, and more importantly, a waste of energy.

There you have it. So take a lesson from our Navy. Everything we do, we can, if we choose to have the mental strength to do so. I am convinced that few, if any of us will face the challenges of this young sailor is facing. If he can do if he can realize his dreams, then we can too!
