Markets have cropped some of the early growth of the profit for the financial and grocery stores. At 1120 hrs, the Sensex was up 79 points at 17,156 and the Nifty 19 points at 5177 levels. Sensex touched intraday highest and the Nifty touched 5217 still 17,259.
At the global front, Asian markets are trading mixed. Nikkei, Straits Times and the Hang Seng and the KOSPI trading slightly lower while the Shanghai Composite is trading flat.
Back home, the sectoral front, Metal, Consumer Durable, Oil & Gas and Technology is leading the rally, gaining nearly 2% each for every one.
Index heavyweight Reliance Industries (RIL) has received nearly 2% after the company announced that the share buyback program will be from 1 February 2012. Shares fell last week reported disappointing numbers for the quarter ended December 2011.
IT stocks like Infosys and TCS have been around 2% each. Technology stocks rose after the Fed announced that it would keep the ultra-low rates in the U.S. late in 2014 to support the U.S. economic recovery. The U.S. has the largest market for Indian IT outsourcing companies.
Metal stocks like Sterling, Tata Steel, and Coal India have surged Hiundalco between 1-4% after LMEX, gauge of six metals traded on the London Metal Exchange (LME) rose 2.4% to close at $ 3,777 26th January. Metal index has so far concentrated almost 5% Week reports that the U.S. Federal Reserve is prepared to offer additional incentives, a move that could spur economic growth and demand for industrial metals.
Among the Consumer Durable segment, Bajaj Electronics, Blue Star, Gitanjali Gems, Rajesh Exports, Titan Inds, TTK Prestige and VIP Inds got between 1-4%.
The flip side, the banking stocks like SBI, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have fallen to between 0.4 to 1%.
FMCG stocks like HUL and ITC have declined between 2-1%.
The broader market indicators are to be completed by comparison, gaining more than 1%.
The overall width of the BSE is a company with 1,689 shares and 684 shares of progressive decline.
